Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)

Rumors surface that Obama walked out of what's being called yet another "tense" meeting with congressional leaders on the US debt today... After which, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor told reporters "We're so far apart and going back on the momentum." We'll talk about what this means for the already shaky negotiations.

Jonathan Alter, msnbc Political Analyst, Bloomberg View Columnist

Leo Gerard, United Steel Workers International President

Judson Phillips, Founder of Tea Party Nation

The lastest Quinnipiac poll shows Michele Bachmann gaining support and becoming the strongest opponent to Romney in the otherwise stagnant race for the Republican presidential nomination. Is this a symptom of the Tea Party's influence? And speaking of the Tea Party's influence-- the debt ceiling debate is getting ugly with certain Tea Partiers refusing to accept even Republican solutions, only emphasizing the growing rift within the GOP.

Ilyse Hogue, Senior Advisor to Media Matters

Murdoch pulls his big bid for British Sky Broadcasting and rumors are circulating that he's shopping his other British newspapers in the fallout of News Corps' international phone hacking scandal. In light of allegations that the phone hacking ring extended to victims of 9/11, U.S. lawmakers are calling for "appropriate agencies" (the Justice Department and FBI) to investigate Murdoch's empire. We'll talk about it.

Jim Conklin, retired school teacher and Free Clinic volunteer.

The Ed Show is partnering once again with The National Association of Free Clinics to bring a one-day health clinic to New Orleans on August 29, 2011... we'll talk to Jim about his work with the organization and let you know how you can get involved!
