Rev. Franklin Graham, the son of Billy Graham and the CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, would not say if President Barack Obama is a Christian during an appearance today on msnbc’s Morning Joe, saying that Obama "has said he's a Christian, so I just have to assume that he is."
Franklin claimed that the president began attending church to bolster his political career and is a Muslim under Islamic law.
"Islam sees him as a son of Islam because his father was a Muslim, his grandfather was a Muslim, great grandfather was a Mulsim and so under Islamic law, the Muslim world sees Barack Obama as a Muslim," Graham said, before explaining that he could not rule out the possibility that Obama may secretly be Muslim.
"I can’t say categorically [that Obama is not a Muslim] because Islam has gotten a free pass under Obama," he said. "All I know is under Obama, President Obama, the Muslims of the world, he seems to be more concerned about them than the Christians that are being murdered in the Muslim countries."
In addition, Graham would not say that Romney is a Christian, but he did say that most Christians don’t believe that Mormons are Christians.
Franklin, however, says that he knows that Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich are Christians because they have told him they are.
Ed will have a lot to say about this tonight on The Ed Show at 8pET on msnbc.
