Months before Todd Akin's "forcible rape" comments exposed the GOP's "no exception for rape" abortion wing, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney was asked about abortion (on October 2, 2011) on Mike Huckabee's Fox News show:
ROMNEY: My view is that the Supreme Court should reverse Roe v. Wade and send back to the states the responsibility for deciding whether they`re going to have abortion legal in their state or fought.HUCKABEE: That to me would be a real challenge to just say reversing Roe v. Wade makes us pro life when in fact it gives all the states a chance to decide geographically what is moral and what is immoral.ROMNEY: Well, I think we have to decide what politically has the greatest potential of being successful.
Yes, you read that correctly: "We have to decide what politically has the greatest potential of being successful."
Should this be Romney's campaign slogan?
