A Republican congressman is caught telling donors that President Obama is not an American and then makes things even worse for himself with an awful performance

A Republican congressman is caught telling donors that President Obama is not an American and then makes things even worse for himself with an awful performance in a TV interview

And now birther Donald Trump wants to speak at the Republican National Convention!

Where is the Republican leadership stand up and do something about this?  Ed will ask Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN).

Mitt Romney unveils his big plan to undermine public education and teacher unions.  Ed will dissect it tonight with Pennsylvania school teacher Charles Hample.

Meantime, Romney says "of course" he would welcome a focus on Bain Capital, but wait until you see which Republican takes apart Romney’s so-called business experience.  Ed will talk with Democratic strategist Bob Shrum about that.

Colin Powell isn't endorsing the president, but he's on board with marriage equality.  Romney steps in it big time with his unemployment prediction. And Republicans are still figuring out how to deal with that embarrassing "not an American" attack on the president.

Our political panel, Krystal Ball, Democratic strategist and former candidate for U.S. Congress, Steve Deace, nationally syndicated conservative talk radio host, and Democratic strategist Chris Kofinis, will weigh in.

One of the guys who would like to be Romney’s running mate, Paul Ryan, describes Obama is a "failed president."  Tonight, Ed will remind the congressman what failure looks like!

And in the Big Finish, Democrat Tom Barrett is closing in on Scott Walker in the Wisconsin recall race, so out-of-state groups are resorting to lies to help out Walker.  John Nichols, Washington Correspondent of The Nation, has the latest.
