Remember when Senator Rand Paul said that private businesses would have eventually acted on their own to integrate black people and that the government didn’t have to get involved?
Well, the first shot has been fired but it’s not against racists, it’s against homophobes.
One Tennessee business owner simply had enough. Martha Boggs, the owner of the Bistro at Bijou asked Senator Campfield to leave while he was having brunch at her restaurant Sunday. Boggs states she asked to Campfield to leave because of his anti-gay remarks.
Boggs commented about the exchange on metropulse, "I didn't want his hate in my restaurant. I told him he wasn't welcome here ... I feel like he's gone from being stupid to being dangerous, and I wanted to stand up to him.”
Right after the incident the restaurant’s Facebook updated its status to say this:
What do you think? Did Boggs do the right thing?
