RIP: ‘Going green’ instead of the grave?

The state of California is trying to pass a bill that would allow people to reduce their carbon footprint, even after death. The bill would allow funeral homes to employ alkaline hydrolysis instead of cremation. The process can seem gruesome and humane, but uses less energy and releases less greenhouse gases compared to cremation.
