RYAN: Drafting me is "silly talk"

Rep.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) dismissed rumors that he could be drafted into being the Republican presidential nominee as "silly talk" on Friday's show.

Asked by guest host Luke Russert if he would put out his name for consideration in a brokered convention in which none of the current candidates have enough delegates to secure the nomination, Ryan said, "If I had a burning ambition to be president, Luke, I would have run for president. I don't have that burning ambition, therefore I didn't run."

Ryan, the chairman of the House Budget Committee, said the it's too early in the primary process to even ponder a convention where the nominee is uncertain.

"We haven't even gotten to Super Tuesday yet, so I think all the talk about a brokered convention is extremely premature," he said.
