Andy Griffith, America's Favorite Sheriff, passed away Tuesday at the age of 86, NBC News reports. The actor, who was best known for his role in the 1960s sitcom "The Andy Griffith Show," was also a champion for Democratic causes. Most recently Griffith was featured in this pro-Obamacare advertisement from 2010.
