Daytime history is made! For the first time in daytime television, two men will tie the knot in a ceremony that will air over three consecutive days beginning Tuesday April 1st.   In 2012, Will Horton came out to the Days of Our Lives audience in powerful episodes that left fans rooting for Horton. Earlier this year, the soap opera introduced the love story of Horton and Sonny Kiriakis, a storyline that is among the Days of our Lives' most popular. As every episode says "like sands in the hourglass, these are the days of our lives", the daytime show continues to represent the changing views of America.  The subject of same-sex marriage remains on the forefront of the American debate. From the various states that have voted to recognize same-sex marriage to the national support that has surged in recent months- with over half of Americans behind the idea- this hot-button topic is one that will not disappear. An ABC News/Washington Post poll reveals 59% support same-sex marriage while 40% disapprove with a CBS News poll revealing similar results with 56% in favor and 39% opposing same-sex marriage. Be sure to catch a sneak peak of Will and Sonny’s wedding and tune in Tuesday for the three-day event.
