Ever since election day the fiscal cliff has basically consumed the news cycle. As our viewers have noticed, here at The Cycle we have developed a “Wheel of Misfortune” where every day we spin the wheel to see what term comes up for us to use. Monday it was “fiscal fiesta” Tuesday it was “fiscal follies” who knows what term the wheel will land on today but one thing is clear, the fiscal cliff story is not going anywhere.

A new Gallup poll is showing that 62% of Americans are in favor of a compromise as opposed to the 25% who believe each party should stick to their respective principles. And Gallup found that a majority of those surveyed believe a deal will be made before we go over the Fiscal Cliff. However, the Washington Post/Pew Poll shows that 49% fear that President Obama and the Congressional GOP will not reach a debt deal before January 1.

So with 27 days to go Neil Irwin from The Washington Post joins the conversation to discuss the fiscal cliff and the markets' non reaction. Be sure to tune in at 3 p.m. to see what he has to say and what fiscal slogan the “Wheel of Misfortune” lands on today.
