Attention animal lovers the only surviving panda cub triplets turned two months old on Monday.
The panda triplets, who are getting bigger and cuter by the day, opened their eyes for the first time 10 days ago and are officially out of the danger zone for newborn cubs.
As the cubs continue to gain weight, the cub’s mother JuXiao- who turned 12 on Sunday- can only take care of one cub at a time. "Mother Juxiao is not able to feed all her three children currently," said Dong Guixin, general manager of Chime Long Safari Parks "so the triplets take turns staying with her, each one for a week. The mother's licking and touching are something humans can never provide."
Being out of immediate danger zone is big news for the animal world as pandas are difficult to breed. The next milestone for the pandas will be in one to two months when their ears fully open, and they have complete hearing. Until then the world awaits for the panda triplets to be named. Currently, there is a worldwide competition open to the public to submit a name for panda cubs- two boys and a girl.
Throughout the whole process JuXiao has shown devotion to her cubs. "From her conception to the delivery, and then to the daily feeding and nursing of the cubs, these tasks can never been done without cooperation between the mother panda and out staff," Dong Guixin said.
