Happy Valentine's Day! As much as I wanted to write a satirical post oozing of snark about this over commercialized holiday I couldn't bring myself to do it. Why? Well, ultimately, as cheesy as this will sound, we do all need a little more love in our lives. Also, I really have nothing bad to say about this "holiday."
Growing up my parents always made this day about our family, not just them (cute right?). We would all spend a nice evening together by either going out or having a made-with-love home cooked meal (really, is there anything better?). It was a day to recognize our family being a family and loving every minute of it. Sure, we didn't/don't need an official day to set aside and celebrate family or significant others, but on the other hand why not? With busy work schedules, personal lives and all that falls in between life can get away from us and if it takes a "holiday" like Valentine's Day for us to stop and appreciate one another then great! With that being said, stop searching the web, put that cell phone on silent (or if you are brave enough turn it off!), load up the playlist below and go treat your loved one(s) or just yourself to an evening of enjoying life.
