As we draw near to day 1 of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte the balloons are ready to drop, the stage is set, and the speakers are ready to go. After the Republican National Convention last week, the polls are showing little gain for Mitt Romney, when usually the candidate numbers take a jump. However, this is not all good news for Democrats. President Obama’s approval rating took a big hit dropping to 43% thus making his disapproval rating 48%.
The Democrats need a huge push for this week to help get the President back on top. With the San Antonio Mayor, Julian Castro, set to kick things off Tuesday, as the first Latino to ever deliver a convention keynote, he will be joined by the First Lady and Former President Jimmy Carter.
On Wednesday Former President Bill Clinton, who is celebrating his 20 year anniversary of his nomination as the party’s presidential pick, will take the stage. The convention wraps up Thursday when Vice President Biden and President Obama take center stage to accept the party’s nomination.
