It's rare that you get the chance to work with friends -- people you respect, admire, and genuinely like. I know it will disappoint many to learn that the four of us actually enjoy each other's company, but it's true. We do. And that's real currency in this business.
Sometimes we'll disagree about issues of national and lesser import -- who should win the next election? Should Clemens make the Hall? How do we fix the economy? And should Steve should wear a tie on the show? I promise all will be resolved to reasonable conclusions on The Cycle. Or, at least we'll take an admirable stab at it.
But I predict our disagreements will be far less interesting than the surprising places we find agreement. We all bring unique perspectives, well-informed worldviews, and nuanced approaches to politics and culture, and I look forward to finding out what those areas of agreement are. Krystal and I, for example, have already discovered we both feel strongly that Steve should not in fact wear a tie. Toure strenuously objects, of course.
And so it begins. This is going to be fun. I'm really honored to have this opportunity to work with such a fantastic team, and totally undeserving. I only promise not to burn the place down.
