Royal baby welcomed to the world

UPDATED -  The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge broke with tradition on Monday when the birth of the future King of England was confirmed on social media. Twitter reported that #royalbaby had over 2 million mentions. The royal baby continued to dominate the social media conversation on Tuesday.

“He’s got quite the pair of lungs on him, he’s a big boy,” Prince William said when he and the Duchess introduced their son to the world. No name has been announced. William said, "We're still working on a name."

Kate Middleton is continuing on the path that Princess Diana started. Princess Diana was the first to deliver a royal heir in a hospital, with her husband by her side. She brought Prince William to his first day of preschool, to amusement parks, and even McDonald's. It is that sense of normalcy that many expect Kate to carry on.

“Kate is not going to go for this whole, ‘We’re going to present the child to the queen’ thing. She’s going to be like, ‘You know what, William? We’re going to take the child to see your grandmother, like anybody else in the world,’” Tom Sykes said on Tuesday’s The Cycle. “Things are going to be different for this kid.”

“Who doesn’t love a royal baby?” Julie Dam of People said on The Cycle. “We don’t have our own royal family. We don’t have to worry about our tax dollars going to support this family, so we can just watch and be happy for them.”
