Smile, you could be on Cassini camera!
NASA's Cassini probe has sent back hundreds of stunning images from space since it left the Earth's atmosphere almost 16 years ago. Currently, Cassini is in orbit in the Saturn system and it will be taking a picture of the whole Saturn system, which means Earth will be captured in this image.
To commemorate this the imaging team wants everyone to look up at the sky, wave, and smile on Friday between 5:27 p.m. and 5:42 p.m. EST.
This marks the first time that earthlings have been given advance notice that their photograph is being taken from another planet. Yet, the picture will be from 900 million miles away, so you don't need to do your makeup or hair as you will be a mere pixel on the final photo.
