What is feminism?

That is the question so many women are asking themselves today as the definition has evolved over time. Nigerian Author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie tries to answer this question with humor and levity in We Should All Be Feminists, an eloquently-argued essay where readers are given a unique definition of feminism rooted in awareness and inclusion for all.

Adichie defines a feminist as “a person who believes in the social, political and economic equality of the sexes.” While these words were written and spoken by Adichie during a TEDx talk in April 2013, Beyoncé brought them to life when she incorporated them in her song “Flawless.”
