First lady gets set to serve up delicious beats

Music and food, the perfect pairing and it's about time two of America's favorite things were combined to motivate and inspire citizens to get up and move.

Music and food, the perfect pairing and it's about time two of America's favorite things were combined to motivate and inspire citizens to get up and move. First lady Michelle Obama is readying plans to create an original album to accompany her Lets Move initiative.

The 19-track hip-hop album is set to roll out next month and will feature various celebrity vocalists (e.g. Artie Green, J Rome, Monifah, Ashanti) on songs designed to motivate kids to exercise and make healthier choices. Mrs. Obama's vocal cords are not directly involved but you can look forward to an appearance from a new, up and coming MC...Dr. Oz! That's right Dr. Mehmet Oz accompanies Jordin Sparks, Doug E. Fresh, Ryan Beatty, and the Hip Hop MD in the track "Everybody" which made its world premiere on Dr. Oz's show June 3, 2013.

Leave it to our first lady to turn the arduous tasks of getting healthy and health education into something cool and worth getting involved in. Remember when Beyonce joined forces and released a re-worked  "Single Ladies" track in support of the effort?

We anxiously await next month's release but in the meantime have cooked up our own food-inspired soundtrack to accompany any exercise routine that gets you up and moving.
