Talk about a silver lining.

The Cycle host S.E. Cupp said Wednesday that losing the 2012 election is what she's thankful for this holiday season.

"This is going to sound trite or corny but I'm thankful we lost this election. I think conservatives really need to reconsider the way forward. Without this opportunity, we keep doing stuff the way we've done it for the past 50 years... It doesn't mean we have to change our principles, but we have to recognize we're in a different time and there's a different way."

Cupp says, "We need better, more effective messengers who can identify with the electorate, and not stand outside of it. Romney's loss is a great opportunity to reclaim the movement from an old-guard apparatus that just doesn't get it."
