In a special report, MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber examines a key revelation in the Mueller report, that when Trump aides refused to carry out Trump’s bidding, Trump turned to someone off the government payroll – former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. Melber breaks down how he pressed Lewandowski on “The Beat” in February about whether Trump asked him to get involved with former Attorney General Jeff Sessions or the DOJ probe and Lewandowski flatly denied it, but now the Mueller report reveals that under penalty of perjury, Lewandowski himself admitted that Trump asked him to get involved with Sessions. Melber notes one explanation could relate to reports that Trump learns about the Mueller probe from watching television and that Lewandowski "calculated that he could stay on Donald Trump's good side by deceiving his old boss on TV, while telling the truth about his old boss" to Mueller.May 14, 2019
