Newly released text messages obtained by CNN reveal MAGA Senator Mike Lee and Congressman Chip Roy supported the Trump campaign’s false claims of election fraud in conversations with Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. Later texts reveal the lawmakers eventually grew weary of these claims once no evidence backing them could be provided. NBC News has not independently reviewed these text messages.
