Ladies & Gents –

This week, the White House is hosting a Summit on Working Families to focus on creating a 21st century workplace that works for all Americans.

It’s just good business. For the US economy to thrive in a competitive global market, it make sense to make maximum use of the pool of talented workers  – women and men – and allow them the flexibility to balance work and family. The labor force has profoundly changed over the last 50 years – with a dramatic increase of women entering the workplace.  We now know that mothers are a significant source of financial support and the old concept of “dad as the breadwinner” is outdated. Plus a new study from Boston College's Center for Work & Family shows that 89% of American men say that paid parental leave is important.

The U.S. trails most of the globe; it is one of only four nations worldwide that do not guarantee workers paid family leave (the other three countries are Lesotho, Papua New Guinea and Swaziland!!).

Team Ronan is asking you to join in the conversation. Tell us which workplace issue is most important to you and your family and what you think should be done to help support America’s working families by taking our RFD poll. We'll share the results with you on the show.
