* In Idaho, Gov. Butch Otter (R) will face a primary opponent next year, with Senate GOP Caucus Chairman Russ Fulcher insisting the incumbent has "lost touch." Otter's apparent misdeed? According to Fulcher, the governor's decision to create a health care marketplace as part of the Affordable Care Act cannot stand.
* In Virginia, Planned Parenthood Votes has released a new television ad going after gubernatorial hopeful Ken Cuccinelli's (R) position on abortion rights for rape or incest victims.
* And speaking of Cuccinelli, the far-right state Attorney General has a new champion: former Sen. Rick Santorum (R) is reportedly signing up volunteers for a "strikeforce" to boost the Republican's campaign.
* The latest CNN poll shows Democrats leading Republicans on the generic congressional ballot by eight points, 50% to 42%. That's generally considered the danger zone for the House GOP possibly losing its majority.
* In New Hampshire, a new WMUR Granite State Poll shows incumbent Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D) with a 15-point lead over former Rep. Charlie Bass (R), 51% to 34%, Former state Sen. Jim Rubens (R) trails by an even larger margin.
* And House Majority PAC, a Democratic super PAC, is hitting the airwaves again this week going after Rep. Steve Southerland (R-Fla.), who is widely seen as vulnerable, for his role in supporting the recent government shutdown.
