A referendum on the ballot in Mississippi this year would define personhood in the state constitution as beginning at the moment of fertilization. The proposal carries a bunch of perhaps surprising consequences, like outlawing popular forms of birth control and raising the question of inheritance rights for IVF embryos.

Mississippians against this tell us they're hopeful, but it's easy to feel outnumbered. Both Republican and Democratic leaders tend to support the amendment (or at least keep quiet about their opposition). This week the "no" campaign, Mississippians for Healthy Families, got a website -- but not before the personhood camp launched a fake website with the bloody logo below, pictures of the "no" campaign leaders and their office address.
