* The latest Pew poll shows Democrats maintaining a modest lead on the generic congressional ballot, 48% to 44%, over Republicans. That hasn't changed much since October.
* In Pennsylvania, it appears state Attorney General Kathleen Kane (D) won't join the crowded gubernatorial race next year, but is instead eyeing a 2016 campaign against Sen. Pat Toomey (R).
* Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) is starting to drop the subtlety about another presidential campaign. "I'm keeping the door open," he said late last week. "I think right now the focus needs to be on 2014, but I'm mindful of the fact that there's a real opportunity for me."
* A Republican group backing Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) has released a new web ad criticizing former Gov. Charlie Crist (D) for supporting implementation of the Affordable Care Act. A small problem: Scott endorsed Medicaid expansion.
* The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee raised $5.1 million last month, a record for an off-year November.
* It's still way too early, but apparently the Des Moines Register believes we're close enough to the 2016 cycle to release a new Iowa Poll.
* Don't be too surprised if former South Carolina Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer (R) runs for governor next year as an independent.
* And in Oregon, Gov. John Kitzhaber (D) surprised no one by announcing late last week that he will run for re-election.
