Moment of Geek, cubed

A couple of weeks ago the fine people at Buckyballs sent our show a set of their awesome, rare-earth magnets. I was interested right away because I am a huge Buckminster Fuller fan. Then I discovered that aside from that they are addictive fun.Laura Conaway keeps them at her desk and mostly uses them as worry beads, but I got obsessed with trying to make a cube, which is much harder than you'd think. Those little suckers like to make circles, not squares.Last night my husband sprang the most amazing anniversary present ever on me. Five entire sets of Buckyballs! I set to work and came up with a 10x10x10 cube and even had a little pile left over!My next challenge: a pyramid!
