Maine's LePage latest to endorse Trump

"I was Donald Trump before Donald Trump became popular," Paul LePage said, in a boast that's largely true.

Gov. Paul LePage has endorsed Donald Trump for president. LePage made the endorsement Friday afternoon on the "The Howie Carr Show." "He's a businessman. I'm a businessman," LePage said. "I think he could be one of the greatest presidents if he sits down and puts together a good team."

"I was Donald Trump before Donald Trump became popular," LePage added, in a boast that's largely true.

As Wednesday morning got underway, Trump had no endorsements from any governors or members of Congress. Two days later, he now has official support from two U.S. House Republicans and two sitting Republican governors.

Among all current GOP governors, only 9 out of 31 have made endorsements, and of those 9, 4 are backing Marco Rubio, 2 are backing Trump, 2 are backing John Kasich, and 1 is backing Ted Cruz.
