Today's edition of quick hits:

* Horrific scene in Virginia: "Two Navy pilots ejected from a fighter jet after dumping loads of fuel to avoid a major explosion Friday, sending their unmanned plane careening into a Virginia Beach apartment complex and engulfing several buildings in flames, officials said."

* President Obama spoke this afternoon at a White House forum on women and the economy. The electoral implications of events like these, especially given the Republican policy agenda, are not subtle.

* How much progress has there been in Burma of late? This much: "The State Department's special coordinator for Burma policy, Derek Mitchell, has been chosen to be the first U.S. ambassador to Burma, formally known as Myanmar, since 1990."

* The far-right American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) isn't quite done losing corporate benefactors: Intuit dropped its partnership with the far-right organization today.

* Speaking of conservatives losing sponsors, Rush Limbaugh isn't quite finished losing advertisers for his radio show.

* Could SOPA make a comeback? Not anytime soon, it can't.

* Politico has apparently fallen for "the most moronic non-scandal in history," which, given the competition, isn't an easy thing to do.

* Which is more astonishing, John Derbyshire's published racism or Erick Erickson's on-air misogyny?
