Today's edition of quick hits:

* The forecast for New Hampshire tomorrow really isn't bad: "President Donald Trump is postponing his New Hampshire campaign rally scheduled for Saturday, blaming a tropical storm expected to hit parts of the East Coast, the White House announced Friday."

* The dramatic twists and turns in the Flynn case are a sight to behold: "Former national security adviser Michael Flynn's criminal case is in limbo again as the full DC Circuit Court of Appeals thinks about reconsidering its immediate dismissal. The appeals court says it will hear from Flynn's attorneys and from the Justice Department before July 20. The case won't be dismissed until at least then, the order said Friday."

* This isn't encouraging: "Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, said Friday he has not briefed President Donald Trump in at least two months and not seen him in person at the White House since June 2, despite a coronavirus resurgence that has strained hospitals and led several states to pause reopenings."

* Another major step backward in Wisconsin: "The conservative-controlled Wisconsin Supreme Court on Thursday upheld Republican-authored lame-duck laws that stripped power from the incoming Democratic attorney general just before he took office in 2019. The justices rejected arguments that the laws were unconstitutional, handing another win to Republicans who have scored multiple high-profile victories before the court in recent years."

* Bounties controversy: "Top Pentagon leaders told Congress on Thursday that reports of Russia offering Taliban militants bounties for killing Americans were not corroborated by defense intelligence agencies, but said they are looking into it and the U.S. will respond if necessary."

* Robert Unanue probably should've thought this through: "Goya, which says it's the nation's largest Hispanic-owned food brand, is facing a backlash after its chief executive met with and heaped praise on President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday. On Twitter, #BoycottGoya and #GoyaFoods were trending in the United States, and some Latinos were also using the hashtag #goyaway."

* Oh my: "Alabama state Sen. Del Marsh (R), who serves as the Senate’s President Pro Tempore, tried to make the claim on Thursday that the astounding increase in COVID-19 cases rippling across the state is actually a good thing."

* On a related note, there's Iowa state Rep. Jeff Shipley (R): “'Mother Nature created this virus, I feel the best solution is for human beings to be healthy enough to withstand it,' Shipley said, adding that for him personally, catching the virus and developing an antibody would be a more permanent strategy."

* Good luck to this guy: "The White House has tapped Ryan Tully to be the top Europe and Russian official on the National Security Council, the fifth person to hold the job in three and a half years, according to two people familiar with his hiring."

Have a safe weekend.
