There's a dam being demolished in Washington State today. It's one of three dams (two on the Elwha River and one on the White Salmon River) that are being destroyed because it's cheaper to do that than to retrofit them with ladders or stairs or whatever they would need to allow salmon to do their spawning. The video above is not of today's dam, but it's pretty cool to watch how you take a dam down. How, you ask? A bit at a time is the answer.
