Straight out of the Florida GOP primary for Senate, Colonel Mike McCalister sends this request for your support:
I live in Florida. It's sunny and warm here every day. And, I'm a businessman and retired Army Colonel nearing my pension. I don't need another job. But, I've decided to run for the United States Senate becauseI want to continue serving our country. I know what it's going to cost me personally to do this job. And I'll tell you, I'm not overly excited about the way they do things in Washington. When I win, I'll have to get on a plane and fly from beautiful Florida (where it's paradise) and fly across the country to Washington, D.C., one of the most miserable, negative places in the world. People move there, and they actually get both meaner, and dumber. It's a fact.
The link from the part about meaner and dumber goes to his donations page.
Colonel McCalister's campaign includes alums from Sharron Angle's effort in Nevada last year. They sent out a notice in June saying they were "confident that Florida Republicans are ready to send another hard charging, conservative Colonel to join Allen West in Washington, D.C." Where people get meaner and dumber, as everyone knows.
Polling in the race shows that "undecided" is winning with 58 percent. Colonel McCalister's in second with 17 percent.
