The Red Nose Day Campaign

On Monday's broadcast, we mentioned "Red Nose Day." It's an NBC-sponsored event to help raise money for children all around the world living in poverty.

On Thursday, we'll celebrate "Red Nose Day." Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars will line up to have fun, raise money and change lives during a three-hour live entertainment event airing that evening from 8-11 p.m. ET on NBC.

The event has raised more than $1 billion dollars over the last 30 years in the U.K., benefiting charities that lift children and young people out of poverty. About 22 percent of American children fall into that category and Thursday will be the first time the fundraiser comes stateside. To honor that effort, "The Today Show's" Matt Lauer is doing a 225-mile bike ride from Boston to New York to help change lives.

You can make a difference in a young person's life too, by supporting Matt on his donation page.
