Perhaps the highlight of Sen. Ted Cruz's epic 21-hour fake filibuster came when he read Dr. Seuss's children's classic "Green Eggs and Ham." Cruz said it was a bedtime story for his children, when he read it on the Senate Floor Tuesday evening.

But as Democrats from Claire McCaskill to Chuck Schumer noted, Cruz failed to notice the moral of the story, which shows that the only reason the unnamed character didn't like the green-tinted meal "Sam" pushed on him is because he'd never tried it--not unlike Republicans who've fought tooth and nail against Obamacare, without seeing it fully implemented.

"Did you think we wouldn't notice your green eggs and sham?" Sharpton asked of Cruz.
