Thanksgiving can now officially begin. President Obama pardoned Cobbler, a four month-old turkey, during a ceremony in the Rose Garden Wednesday afternoon.
For the first time, the American people selected Cobbler as National Thanksgiving Turkey through an online competition.
Gobbler, the runner-up, also received a pardon, meaning he won't end up on a dinner table Thursday. Both Cobbler and Gobbler will now live out their lives in a custom-made enclosure on George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens.
