Most people don't know this, but despite their ideological differences, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her conservative counterpart, Justice Antonin Scalia have been friends for over 20 years. They spend New Year's Eve together, they travel to India, where they ride elephants. But the thing that really brings this odd couple together is their love of opera.
The judicial duo is the subject of a new opera being composed by Derrick Wang, "Scalia/Ginsburg" -- an opera in which the two justices are stuck in the same room until they can agree on a constitutional approach. When Wang asked permission from the justices to use their words in the music, Scalia and Ginsburg responded by reminding Wang that he was protected by the First Amendment.
Wednesday on NOW with Alex Wagner, Alex chronicled the Scalia-Ginsburg friendship.
