“Tenacious” doesn’t even begin to describe San Diego Mayor Bob Filner.

Despite calls for his resignation, and the number of women--seven--who have leveled sexual harassment allegations against him, the 70-year-old Democrat is refusing to call it quits.During a press conference Friday, Filner announced his intention to enter a two-week intensive therapy program, but not resign as mayor, a position he’s held for less than eight months. Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has called on him to step down, and so has the San Diego County Democratic Party Central Committee, following a 34-6 vote on Thursday.San Diego Democratic Party Chair Francine Busby said committee members were “absolutely dumbfounded” by the latest allegations.“It was absolutely the hardest vote that we had to take because we do believe that he had the right agenda,” said Busby on NewsNation Friday. But “right now the best thing for San Diego is for him to step down, get the help that he needs, and to let the city move forward.”
