What is your biggest challenge as a leader on campus?

Personally, my biggest challenge was being truly representative of all of my peers on campus. Regardless of their backgrounds or their needs, my number one responsibility was to represent them and have their desires expressed. This was particularly difficult when policies regarding our student social culture were implemented. My role in situations such as this was to be a representative, but also to be a liaison to my peers and facilitate conversations and dialogues that were shaping the culture and discourse on our campus.

Which female leaders do you draw inspiration from?

Madeline Albright, Coretta Scott King, Elizabeth Warren, Sonia Sotomayor, and Bélgica Adela Mirabal Reyes.

What comes to mind first when you think about important moments in history?

History has been filled with many human accomplishments. Among them, I find some of the most significant to have been the ratification of the 13th Amendment, the fall of the Berlin Wall, Geraldine Ferraro's Vice Presidential campaign, the crumbling of apartheid South Africa and Nelson Mandela's presidential victory in the country's first democratic election, and President Obama's inauguration. But to be honest, I don't think that we as people have come to the most important moment in history. When all human beings can freely live in peace in a world filled with harmony and respect is when I believe the most important moment in history will have occurred.

What do you think should be President Obama’s No. 1 priority?

Immigration reform.

What's your go-to diner order?

Waffles and fries.
