Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen is resigning. In a tweet on Sunday President Donald Trump said, “Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen will be leaving her position, and I would like to thank her for her service." Kevin McAleenan, commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, will become acting secretary pending confirmation of Nielsen's successor, Trump said.
