A shooting investigation is underway at Rosemary Anderson High School in North Portland, Oregon, according to local police.

Portland police told NBC News that there are a total of three victims, who are all conscious, awake and talking. It is currently unclear if the victims are students but police confirm that they are teenagers and were shot outside of the school before they ran inside for help. The three victims are all being treated at the Legacy Emanuel Center.

Police say the shooting may be gang related. Authorities are still searching for a suspect or suspects, who remain at large.

The area has been deemed a crime scene but safe. The school, in addition to local schools Jefferson High and Portland Community College, were all on lockdown due to the incident.

This latest incident of gun violence comes just days before the two-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, which claimed the lives of 20 children.
