Senator's very respectable ringtone is 'Let It Go'

Sen. Pat Roberts' love of the animated movie "Frozen" was outed Thursday during a Senate finance committee hearing when his cell phone began ringing with the sweet sound of Idina Menzel's voice singing "Let It Go."

"Just let it go," the Kansas Republican said as he silenced his phone. The members of the committee meeting looked on in shock and some couldn't hold back the laughter.

Roberts' communications director Sarah Little confirmed to msnbc that his grandkids inspired the ringtone choice. "He balances it with Johnny Cash’s 'I Walk the Line.' He changes depending on the day," Little said.

That would make sense, considering the typical Disney audience is not 78-year-olds -- and Roberts' three children are adults.

"Frozen" broke records last year as highest-grossing animated film; "Let It Go" specifically won an Oscar for Best Original Song. The fans are aplenty.

If only it could thaw icy relationships in Congress.
