Reese Witherspoon encouraged reporters on the Oscar red carpet to dig a little deeper than the ubiquitous “Who are you wearing?” question.
The actress, who was nominated for Best Actress for performance in the drama “Wild,” promoted the social media campaign #AskHerMore on Facebook and Instagram before the Academy Awards on Sunday.
“This is a movement to say we’re more than just our dresses,” Witherspoon said during a pre-show interview. “There are 44 nominees this year that are women and we are so happy to be here and talk about the work that we’ve done. It’s hard being a woman in Hollywood, or any industry.”
During the Oscars, #AskHerMore became a trending topic on Facebook and Twitter.
Two other Hollywood powerhouses jumped on the bandwagon for the cause, urging journalists to focus on creative endeavors instead of their ball-gowns.
But for those inquiring minds dying to know, she is wearing Tom Ford.
