#PopeDog pet pictures are trending, and they're heavenly!

When Pope Francis travels, he's greeted by throngs of crowds, opportunities to speak before world leaders and worshipful followers standing in line for hours.

When Pope Francis travels, he's greeted by throngs of crowds, opportunities to speak before world leaders and worshipful followers standing in line for hours.

In the U.S., we've got all that ... and more. Like folks dressing up their dogs in papal attire and posting them on the Internet. It's adorable and possibly sacrilegious at the same time!

That said, Pope Francis is usually seen in more simple attire, wearing just a zucchetto (his head covering), but we think he'd give his blessing to these cuties all the same.
