MSNBC is helping the Arbor Day Foundation by inspiring people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. At our Growing Hope events across the country, MSNBC offered a small tree to everyone who attended these events and shared their hopes. Neighborhood trees provide shade for yards, streets and parking areas, cool the air, and absorb carbon dioxide. By planting the Arbor Day Foundation trees, people can help beautify and better the environment in their neighborhoods. More than 5,000 trees were donated in 2014 at Growing Hope events.
