Ex-'Celebrity Apprentice' contestant Clay Aiken says Trump is a Democrat

"I believe he’s this way and he speaks another way. And that’s what worries me about him becoming president," said Clay Aiken.

Former Democratic congressional candidate Clay Aiken said on Thursday he believes that Republican presidential front-runner, Donald Trump is neither a fascist or a racist, but instead “a Democrat.”

Aiken, who also placed second in Trump's former reality television show “Celebrity Apprentice” in 2012 after making a name for himself nine years earlier as the runner-up on "American Idol," said during an interview with Fox Business Network that he’s concerned about the possibility of Trump becoming president.

“I believe he’s this way and he speaks another way. And that’s what worries me about him becoming president,” he said. "I don’t know what he’ll be when he is president, you don’t know what he’ll be when he is president. I’m not sure that he knows what he’ll be as president.”

He added, “That’s far more frightening to me than someone I might disagree with completely."

During his time working with Trump on “Celebrity Apprentice,” Aiken said he had gotten the chance to know him personally.

“He’s very charming in person. What you see on TV, what you see on the rally stage, is not necessarily what I used to,” he said. “It’s a juxtaposition that is very hard for me to calculate and justify when I’m watching him."

Aiken also revealed during the interview that his mother is voting for Trump.
