A diverse group of citizens gathered at the farmer's market in Ferguson Thursday evening for a prayer vigil after two police officers were shot before dawn. Local citizens and clergy attended the peaceful vigil, leading the crowd in prayers, songs, and chants.
Peaceful protests began in Ferguson on Wednesday after Ferguson police chief Thomas Jackson resigned on the heels of a scathing Justice Department report which found widespread racism among Ferguson police. But shortly after midnight on Thursday morning, gunfire struck two police officers. Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were released from the hospital later on Thursday. Police were still searching for suspects Thursday night.
Here is a look at some scenes from the vigil.
