Food made the news this week. A comedian was hit with a banana peel and a pizzeria in Indiana, after a controversial religious freedom bill was signed into law in the state, said it would serve gay customers at the restaurant but not cater same-sex weddings. Students whose families’ annual incomes are lower than $65,000 will also be exempt from paying room and board, up from the current $60,000 cutoff.

“The bill that is on my desk at the present time does not precisely mirror the federal law in a couple of ways,” Hutchinson said. The governor signed a religious freedom bill after the state legislature made changes to the legislation.

"I can't believe not only that someone threw a banana on stage, I can’t believe that they had a banana on them the entire time," the comedian told the audience.  

“We will not allow unfair biases and unjust prejudices to prevent transgender Americans from reaching their full potential as workers and as citizens,” Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement.
