YOUNG WORKING WOMEN STILL SEE PAY GAP, OTHER SEXISM AT WORK: “The Feminine Mystique” may have been replaced by “Lean In,” but for millennial women at work, many of the problems raised by Betty Friedan remain. Most millennial women think men generally earn more than women for same work, and that more change is needed for men and women to achieve equality at work, a new Pew Research Center study finds. UNEMPLOYMENT BENNIES: The clock is ticking for the long term unemployed. Millions will be cut from any unemployment benefits unless Congress renews the federal program to extend funds by Christmas. A renewal is likely part of a bigger budget deal and even then, benefits and their length could be slashed. Analysts say the cost to the economy and the number of jobs lost would be huge. Read more
