A number of offensive Halloween costumes and displays have made news this fall. A website promised its Ebola hazmat suit would be the most “viral” outfit of the season. Janay Rice herself spoke out against a costume inspired by a case of domestic violence against her. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg -- ISIS, Malaysia Airlines, the list goes on.

But on the other side of the spectrum, here are a few costumes that are perfect -- and perfectly appropriate -- for political junkies.

1. 'Notorious RBG'

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been dubbed “notorious” by fans for her defiant progressive opinions on important issues, including women’s reproductive rights. Ginsburg recently made headlines for her refusal retire because of her age. She has plenty of youth in her demeanor -- she knows the difference between a blog and a Tumblr. Confused on how to pull this look off? Check out Ruth “Baby” Ginsburg below.

2. 'Meet the Press' host Chuck Todd

Can you name one person with a bigger passion for politics than "Meet the Press" moderator Chuck Todd? We can’t. As we approach Election Day, Todd is keeping busy. He has spent the week crisscrossing the country on a bus tour of states with the most hotly contested races of the 2014 midterms. Catch his big takeaways on this weekend’s edition of "Meet the Press."

3. Hillary Rodham Clinton

The former secretary of state has arguably been the Democratic Party’s biggest cheerleader this week. She has been a surrogate for candidates like Alison Lundergan Grimes in Kentucky and Sen. Kay Hagan in North Carolina, whose virtually tied races could determine control of the U.S. Senate. Is this a rehearsal for a potential 2016 campaign? Here are two of the best Clinton costumes we’ve seen this week. For an added prop, bring along a Blackberry.

4. Madeleine Albright

Conan O’Brien set Twitter ablaze when he announced his Halloween costume: former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. The former secretary of state is an icon for a reason: she’s multi-talented. Albright speaks four languages fluently: Czech, Serbo-Croat, French and English; she is a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient; and proved she is one of the most skilled Twitter users on the planet when she served O’Brien for suggesting he would dress "slutty" as the former State Department head.
