In the most recent edition of Golf Digest, "Way Too Early" host and "Morning Joe" co-host, Willie Geist told about the highs and lows of his first experience at The Masters professional golf tournament. Willie's experience differed from many avid fans and golf enthusiasts because of his 5:30 am ET start time, he had to leave the party early to catch his flight and return to NYC.
"If you're one of the fortunate few on this Earth with a pass to enter the gates of Augusta National on Masters Sunday, you don't leave early. You just don't. ... Unless you're me," Willie said.
The end of The Masters turned out to be a nailbiter for the players and Geist. He recounts the moment of truth explaining, "After an agonizing 90-plus minutes in the air, our wheels touched down in New York, nearly 700 miles away from the site where we had abandoned the final round of the Masters. BlackBerrys and iPads were switched on immediately. The moment of truth."
