Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, hasn't won any friends in the GOP after she announced on Tuesday that she will challenge Republican and senior Sen. Mike Enzi for his Wyoming seat.
“I think it’s time for a new generation, for a new generation to come to the fore. I don’t see seniority as a plus, frankly," she told the Associated Press.
But on Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough said it isn't about conservatism or youth.
“Liz and I agree on a lot of things but we disagree on foreign policy. She’s a neo-con. She believes in much more active foreign policy like her father,” Scarborough said. “I think that’s what’s so fascinating about this race, it’s not young against old, it’s not conservative against more conservative, I think it’s neo-con versus realist.”
